How we test and review

What we capture for every game

Before a game is published, we load its actual demo build and capture our own material from it: three to six screenshots showing different moments of play (the base game, a bonus feature, a notable win state where one occurs), and one short gameplay clip. None of it is supplied by the provider as promotional artwork — if it's on a DemoSlots page, it's a picture of that exact demo, taken by us.

Alongside the media, we capture a fixed set of facts: RTP, volatility, reel and payline layout, bet range, max win, release date, and which of a defined list of features the game actually has. Every one of those comes from the provider's own published game data or feed, or is directly observable in our own capture of the game running — never estimated, never inferred from a similar-sounding title.

How facts are checked

Each numeric fact is checked against at least one source before it's published: the provider's own certification sheet or official game information where we have it, our feed data from the platform we source demo builds through, and our own screenshots and clips as a final visual check for anything that can be confirmed by watching the game run. A figure that doesn't appear in any of those sources doesn't get published — the fact table shows "not disclosed by the provider" instead of a guess.

Reviews themselves are checked against a written editorial rubric before publication: every number and feature must trace back to the research behind that specific game, every RTP range must name its lowest setting, every missing fact must be marked as such rather than skipped, and a fixed list of banned phrases and unsupported claims — anything implying a player could win money, for instance — is grounds for sending a review back rather than publishing it.

What a "verdict" actually means

Every review closes with a short verdict from the DemoSlots editorial team: our own opinion, based on the actual mechanics, the sourced numbers, and time spent with the demo, of what the game is like and who'd enjoy it. A verdict is never a claim about what any individual player will personally experience, and — because every game here is demo mode only — it never promises or implies anything about winning money. It's an honest read of a machine, not a sales pitch for one.

Editorial independence

We don't accept payment, free credits, or any other consideration from a provider in exchange for reviewing a game, ranking it more favourably on any hub page, or featuring it more prominently on the site. A provider being listed on DemoSlots reflects that we've captured and reviewed their game — nothing about that placement can be bought. See our editorial policy for the full statement.

Affiliate disclosure

DemoSlots does not currently run any affiliate or referral program, and no page on this site links to a real-money casino operator. If that changes in future, any such link will be clearly marked and will carry a disclosure on this page and alongside the link itself. Nothing about how a game is reviewed, rated or ranked will ever be influenced by whether an affiliate relationship exists with its provider or with any operator offering it for real money.
